Yes, There are Internet Dating Dangers for Guys Too!
At first I want to tell you a oldie but goody joke that a friend of mine told me over the past weekend…
I’ve got to tell you about these three leprechauns.
So they’re all standing outside the Guinness Book of World Records building… and the first one says he’s got the smallest hands in the world and he’s going to show them to the Guinness people and get in the book. A couple of minutes later, he comes out, all thrilled…
The second one has the smallest feet. He comes out all excited because he’s in the book now…
When the third leprechaun comes out, he looks all depressed and his friends ask him what’s the matter – doe he have the smallest dick in the world or what?
The guy shakes his head, looks at his friends and says, “Who the hell is John Garret?”
(sigh) I need to find new friends…
Hopefully, this joke kinda puts you in a good mood for the Monday blahs… now for the latest news about Internet Dating Dangers for guys…
We hear about creeps on MySpace, Facebook and Internet dating sites… and although it serves a purpose that everybody… Men and Women should always practice safety when meeting a new person for the first few times. They say that you should ONLY meet someone new at public places. And not only that, someone you trust should know who you are going out with and where. And you should have some sort of prearranged communication with your keykeeper so they know you are back home safe.
It is just common sense. And yes, while there are pedophiles, perverts and sexual psychopaths out there on the Internet… the truth is the vast majority of people are not dangerous and are perfectly sane people who are looking for someone to be with… just like you.
I also want to emphasize that there are internet dating dangers for Men too!!
Case in point, recently in Florida, a 23 year old guy arrange to meet a 19 year old woman that he just met on the popular social website, MySpace. After he picked her up in his car (Mistake #1), she asked him to pick up her girlfriend (Mistake #2). The girlfriend jumped into the back seat and then held him at gunpoint and told him to drive to another location with 3 men waiting.

And unsurprisingly, he was robbed at gunpoint. All they took from him was his clothes, $300, cell phone and wallet.
Luckily, all he lost was a little indignity and not his life.
Just because you are a guy, doesn’t mean you are safe. Just like untrustworthy and dangerous guys… there are also crazy women. They can steal from you, they can ROB you, they can file false rape charges against you.
These things happened in the news. I’m guessing they probably happen more often than we think because many times the male victims are so embarrassed that they never report the crimes to the police.
Which makes Men GREAT targets for criminals.
So what do you do to protect yourself? Like I said at the beginning of this post… when meeting someone new… only meet them in public places. If this person wants to bring other people to the date with them… tell them goodbye… nothing good can come from it. You either want to meet someone new or not.
