Traditional dates usually involve a dinner and movie during the evenings… however, not only this is boring… it is also can get pretty expensive, especially if you are dating a lot. And besides, I think dating during the daytime offers more creative and endless choices that aren’t available during the evenings.

And if this is a first date… well, day time dating may be the best way to meet because you can meet in a well lighted place that is less threatening and easier to excuse yourself if your date isn’t what you expected. Now day time dating as opposed to evening dating has another big advantage… there is more daytime to work with if the date is working out really well and you want to spend more time with your date.

Another thing to keep in mind is that lunch entrees are usually cheaper than the dinner menu items. Also, alcohol isn’t generally consumed during lunch time unless of course you are a huge fan of the 3 martini lunches (which I of course don’t recommend).

This is what I recommend that you do… let your date order first… and if she or he orders water… then you can too… which is better anyways for the waist… and easier on the wallet because most restaurants recoup their costs from the pricey drinks.

Other cheap date ideas for the day time is to meet your date for drinks after work. So try to find a close by bar or favorite restaurant that is offering a special for happy hour. You can save a lot of money and still talk a little about work.

But the key here is to do a little advanced research before doing this. Find the places that give you deals and specials during the slow periods so you can stretch out your dating budget.
