What Scot McKay Says About Being a Masculine Man

Scot McKay says this in his latest program, The Master Plan, for the guys who want to find a high quality woman for a long term relationship… that being a masculine man means doing the right thing… even if nobody is watching you.

What does THAT mean?

Well, a GREAT example is the story of the Boston Red Sox’s Jim Rice. You see, Jim Rice made it into the Hall of Fame for Major League Baseball… but the BEST THING Jim ever did won’t be mentioned on his plaque…

That during a game at the Fenway Park… on August 7, 1982… Jim saved the life of a 4 year old boy that was struck in the head by a foul ball.

You see, Jim was in the dugout and his teammate hit a foul ball that struck and bloodied the boy… Johny Keane… everyone was stunned… but not Jim! He jumped out of the dugout… ran into the stands… picked up Johnny… while his dad picked up the other son… and both of them ran through the dugout to the waiting ambulance that took Johnny and his family to the hospital when the neurosurgeons relieved the pressure on the boy’s brain.

The quick actions of Jim Rice was credited by everyone to saving Johnny’s life. Heck, Johnny is now about 34 years old… he doesn’t remember a thing… but he has a small scar above his above his left eye as proof… and Johnny said, “The fact that I was able to stay alive was due in large part to the fact that Jim Rice was quick to react.”

Now Jim is pretty humble… “I’ve hit home runs… I”ve driven in runs… But as far as something that stands out, it’s probably the picture when I went up into the stands and took the kid out of the stands who was hit by a foul ball.”

And here is my point… Jim didn’t do this because everyone was in the stands watching him be a hero. No, Jim was doing the right thing… something any masculine guy would do if it was him… and this is what Scot McKay probably means when he says that masculine men do the right thing EVEN if nobody is watching him.
