Lou… Your Dog is Peeing on My Truck!

Last Sunday I was visiting a good friend of mine… we decided to go into town and get some errands done…

Actually, we just wanted to burn up some time before the football game started…

So I parked my truck outside and jumped into my friend’s truck. As we were pulling out of his garage… all of a sudden I had a horrified look on my face and said, “Lou… your dog is peeing on my truck!”

He tried to explain that it is a normal thing for dogs to do to ‘mark their territory.’

I told him, “I don’t know what you guys are teaching your dog… but my truck isn’t your dog’s territory!”

He didn’t seem to care…

Later on as we were heading back to his house… he started to talk about the football game.

I said, “Am I invited to watch the game at your place?”

He said, “Yeah, if you bring the beer!”

I told him, “Well, Lou, that isn’t going to happen… because then YOU’LL be peeing on my truck too!!”

I repeated this story verbatim to his wife later on and she couldn’t stop howling…

But I do have a point with this story… good friends are awesome. And you should treasure the moments that you have with them.

And did you know that what you are can be determined by which 5 friends you spend the most time with?

Take me for instance, I think I have the greatest friends in the world. Warm, caring and funny. They are ethical, have integrity and can-do spirit.

I won’t associate with anyone who does something illegal such as drugs… or someone who has drinking problems… or anger issues.

And why? Because it isn’t my problem… and I don’t need the heartache, the headaches and the frustration of having friends that are a drain to your natural abilities to be happy and successful  in life.

For example, some of you that are trying to lose weight… are all your closest friends overweight too?

So think about it again… are you the sum of the closest 5 friends that hang out with the most?

Are you satisfied where you are? Who you are? Where you want to go?

If not, perhaps it is time to replace one or two with a better choice of friends…

Just sayin’.

peace out,

John :)

P.S. I’m gonna have to borrow my neighbor’s puppy the next time Lou stops over my place and hold the puppy over his windshield and command the puppy to pee… I have a feeling that puppy won’t pee on demand but heck… it might be worth a few laughs! :)

revenge is best served cold... here's hoping the puppy will do it...
