Step Parenting Advice to Prevent Driving a Wedge Between Your Family Part 2
This is the second blog post I’m writing… about the important but not mentioned often subject of step parenting advice.
Now psychotherapists call this the triangulation effect and it is no wonder. As many step parents will say, they feel caught in the middle of the family drama. And this is just a huge issue between the step parent, the spouse and their kids. And many times, the stress and issues are constant and mind-numbing.
For some reasons, many kids feel they need to come between their parents in a divide and conquer kind of strategy. And naturally, when the natural parents are divorced and there is a step parent… well fireworks can and often does happen.
And the conflict eventually becomes the natural parent with the children against the step parent. Defending the children efforts to create divisiveness and conflict.
Which just sets up a terrible battle front between the parents.
I’ll be talking a little more about step parenting advice in my next blog post,
John
