Ideas for a Fun Date at Home

Sometimes going out and having a great time on the town is a lot of fun. And I certainly would be the first to say let's go!

But then again, there are days in which you don't feel like going out. Or you don't want to spend a whole lot of money because dating on the town can add up against your bank balance.

So I decided to write an article about some GREAT ideas that you can try... it is going to be all about ideas for a fun date at home.

And besides... when you have a date at home... you don't have to worry so much about dressing up (unless of course you want to) or how you act. Dating at home should be all about knowing each other better and enjoying each other's company.

Right? RIGHT!

So let's get started on a romantic date idea... in the kitchen. How about making up one of your classic culinary dishes that you never made before for that person? To be honest with you... nothing says "I'm attracted to you" than having the MOTOS smell something delicious and wonderful aroma emitting from your oven as they walk in the front door.ideas for a fun date

You could meet up with him or her and offer a glass of red or white wine (depending on what you are cooking of course). And then invite your date to watch you while you put the finishing touches on the dinner before you put them on the table.

Alternatively, you could invite your date to cook with you. Either as a head chef or a sous chef... which brings up a great point... if your date is a better cook than you... it should be fun to watch him or her and learn how to improve your own culinary skills.

So what to prepare? Well, you can keep things simple by just making a calzone or grilling a steak on the BBQ grill outside the porch. Or you can go the more complicated route to prepare a gourmet meal that you both can talk about forever. So cooking ideas? Well, if you both are new to this... I would suggest that you watch a few episodes of your favorite chef on FOOD TV and then go to the website to find a recipe that you both would love to make.

The key of course is to know your limitations. Or if you both have a great sense of humor and totally butcher the menu... who cares right? It is just fun, fun fun!

And oh yeah... you shouldn't forget the dessert and soft music for dancing afterwards. But hey... you could skip the dessert for now and go straight for the bedroom...

Another good tip for ideas for a fun date at home is if the evening is cool or warm and the sky is clear... and of course there aren't a whole lot of bugs... is to spread out a blanket in the backyard and watch the shooting stars across the sky. Big tip - this would be something perfect to do after a great dinner. And you know what? You can continue the fun conversation that you have been having with your date during dinner.

Some of you may even have a telescope... this is the perfect opportunity to impress your date with your knowledge of the heavens and the moon.

If you don't think you know enough... then it will pay off if you do a little research beforehand... get thee to the library!

Another creative date idea is to rent a romantic movie from Netflix or Blockbusters and make some delicious hot buttered popcorn. Use the real butter man... and if you both like spicy... add some hot pepper flakes or some herbs for taste.

And while there is a lot of romantic movies to choose from... you could even choose some of the oldies that never seems to fall out of favor such as "Casablanca" or "Night to Remember." And heck... sometimes a scary movie is the right one... besides... you guys might want to cuddle for reassurance that the movie isn't real.

And that can't be a bad thing...

Other hot date ideas that you can try is playing board games, dominos, cards, or even working on a jigsaw puzzle together. These are great ideas especially if the weather knocks out the power... just light up oil lamp and play the games... You should always have some games handy in special occassions so your date isn't disappointed. I would get the games really cheap at a local thrift store or even at the yard sales.

But you can add a little twist to the usual games. Such as the winner gets a prize. That is totally up to you guys (and I don't want to hear what they are).

And don't forget to crack open some tasty snacky foods to go along with the games. Boy... your little date evening is going to go by so fast because you both are having so much fun laughing and sharing the joy of being with each other.

Some of you may be into fix it up and repairs. How about fixing up a broken furniture together? Or do some special project around the house that you have been meaning to do? It is so much fun to do them when you are doing them with someone that you like.

And besides... like most small house projects... it may take more than one evening to complete the task. Which means of course you devil... that he or she is going to have to come back again.

So let's try it next time you have a dating opportunity. And try to be creative about it so things don't seem the same ol' thing. And try some of the ideas for a fun date that I mentioned in this article.

Behave but have a lot of fun,
